She’s just an average girl, working a day to day job, surviving in a tiny one room apartment with her best friend, her cat. I smiled and laughed throughout but what got me most was how much I could relate to Willa. To this reader, the storyline was such a breath of fresh air. Note: This ARC was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. Overall it was a good book with a different take to a billionaire romance and I just loved the way in which they first met. I felt that it was a little brushed over (a conversation with her bestie) and could have been embellished a bit more.

The drama with her boss was interesting and I would have loved to have had some more of that drama running through the book. She did in parts towards the end of the book, but it would have been nice to see her come into her own earlier on. Their story is very sweet and romantic, however I would have liked to have seen Willa fight for herself some more. And you guessed it, he isn’t your stereotypical billionaire either. The way they meet is just perfect and blends to the overall feel to Hudson and who he is.

In fact Kayt brings to life a character we can all relate to with actual real life struggles and hardships making her character that much more relatable. Usually in romances we get the super hot woman and the super hot guy but what I loved about Happy go Lucky is that Willa isn’t the stereotyped woman.
